CSB Umpire Update (10/11/21)

Umpire Panel News

We are pleased that there will be an increased number of umpires available to stand at CSB matches this season. Added to those who were on our panel last season and who have returned, we have been successful in recruiting some experienced umpires and a number of ex players who have joined us to learn the craft.

Included amongst our new members are some young men who will be on our junior pathway program. They will receive expert tuition and guidance, both on and off the field. I would also like to especially welcome Robyn Whitelaw to our Women’s Panel.

New Umpires Trainer

We are pleased to advise that Tony Medina has joined us as Umpires Trainer. Tony brings a wealth of experience in knowledge about the game and extensive experience as an Umpires Adviser and Trainer. He is continuing his career with Premier Cricket in addition to helping us.

CSB Scholarships

Josh and Sam with our new Trainer Tony and CSB Board member Clare Haysom.

We are delighted to announce that Josh Tonini and Sam Bach, two of our impressive new young umpires, have been given scholarships to help them on their way to becoming top flight umpires. They will be mentored and stand in games appropriate to their skill and level of development.

Sam and Josh will receive their clothing for free as part of the arrangement and on-going mentorship.

Thanks to Arthur and those ex Umpires from the VTCA who contributed to a Fund that made these scholarships possible.
