Division 4 Premiers | Hampton

Hampton | 183             McKinnon | 174           Hampton won by 9 runs

Boss James Reserve hosted the Div 4 final, as Hampton faced off against McKinnon in what would result in a tight affair.

Hampton batting first, both openers were dismissed quickly, which left G Finkelde and D Crewdson to steady the ship with 22 runs apiece. This laid the platform for Joel Crouch, who finished 55 from 139 runs – an innings that would be the spine of Sunday’s bowling effort. McKinnon’s bowlers shared wickets around, an impressive 3 wicket haul from Matthew Davie the highlight.

A late cameo from Max Harrison (27) earnt Hampton 183 all out, all to play for on day two.

McKinnon would rue a collection of starts on Sunday, as only Marc Ferne capitalising on a strong start with 63 runs. Petschel (3/25) & Crouch (4/36) would keep McKinnon at bay, resulting in a tight finish which saw Hampton come out on top by only 9 runs.
