A beautiful weekend and a good cricket wicket beckoned the combatants after heavy rainfall during the week.
After winning the toss Mordialloc struggled to 7 for 94 before the last 3 wickets added 50 to give the bowlers something to bowl too.
Valuable lower order runs from Kyle Frencham, Kobe Jacobs and Aidan Morris contributed to a final score of 145. Dan Parkinson, Liam Anstee and Adam Fraine took multiple wickets for Murrumbeena.
A late Murrumbeena wicket on day 1 saw Mordialloc take some momentum into day 2. A 50 run second wicket between Cooper Anstee and Brett Hardham early on day 2 put the chase on a positive footing.
Mordialloc continued to fight hard with some tight bowling, highlighted by Aaron Martello bowling 18 overs for 19 runs. In the end man-of-the-match Nic Cowling saw Murrumbeena home with an unbeaten 42. A massive and appreciative crowd watched Murrumbeena cap off a dominant season, culminating in premiership glory.
