Saturday One Day Blue Premiers | Dingley

Dingley | 147/5             Chelsea | 146/8                         Dingley won by 5 wickets.

Souter Oval saw Chelsea face off against Dingley in what was a 1 v 2 clash from the regular season.

Batting first, Dingley’s top order faltered to 27/3 before Rasika Iddagoda Rajapakshage stepped up with a vital 43. A late order blitz from Prasanna Rathnayaka (36*) got Chelsea to 146/8. Wickets were shared, however Brett Sheriff’s economy of 1.71 is to be commend in the short format.

Chelsea came out strong with the ball, dismissing Dingley’s number 2 and 3 for nought. However, the middle order resisted then thrived, Craig Gunawardana (50) and Lachlan Craig (49) providing some needed stability from Jono Watkins brought Dingley home with 5 wickets to spare. Irusha Chandrasena had a good day with a ball, finishing with 3/29.
