CSB Division Two Premiers – Brighton District

The weather was stunning at Dendy Park as Brighton District faced off against Clayton District in a 1 v 2 clash from the regular season.

Batting first, Brighton District’s top order went to work early, with the top five registering scores off 35, 69, 75, 50 & 26. Top scorers Xavie Clarke (75) and Jason Oldfield (69) taking their time against a positive Clayton attack.

Clayton’s bowlers would have their say, with Brighton’s lower order falling quickly, wickets shared between Sachith Jayasingha (4/80) and Harsh Laxmikant Mohade (3/69).

Day 2 proved to be a seesaw, Clayton initially seemed unfazed by the loss to captain Daniel Fielding to injury, with Mandeep Premi blistering 84 from just 57 deliveries. Outside of a few cameo’s through the middle, he struggled to find assistance. Clayton finishing 177 all out, spoils to Brighton District.
